Wacky Wheels 2025 kicked off the EOL season with a unique PEV racing event combining traditional time trial racing with chaotic "wacky" elements. The race took place on an 850-meter technical trail in Fót, Hungary.

Race Categories

• Onewheel (OW) - EOL Certified race, winner qualifies for finals in Portugal
• Electric Unicycle (EUC) - Winner receives recognition as the best 2025 trail rider
• Groms - Junior category for young riders

The Wacky Format

Unlike standard time trials, Wacky Wheels adds rider tasks that can dramatically change your finishing time:

Rag Snag

Riders wear rags on their helmet and back during the race.

• Steal a rag from another rider: -2 seconds off your time (bonus!)
• Lose a rag to another rider: +2 seconds to your time (penalty!)
• Can steal/lose up to 3 rags per run (-6s to +6s swing)

Tire Toss

Tires are placed on the track for riders to grab.

• Throw tire into target circle: -9 seconds off your time
• Strategic decision: Stop to grab tire vs maintain speed

Time Calculation

Final Time = Raw Time + Rag Snag Bonus/Penalty + Tire Toss Bonus

Race Phases

Phase 1: Qualifier Rounds (Q1 & Q2)

Riders divided into groups (A through F) race head-to-head while completing time trials with wacky tasks. Each rider's best time from Q1 or Q2 counts.

Phase 2: Climb Heats

Positions 13-20 from qualifiers race in Climb Groups for the final Top 16 spots:

• NO rag snagging bonuses
• NO tire toss bonuses
• Tires used as obstacles only (throw at opponents or leave on track)
• Best 4 times across both heats advance

Phase 3: Top 16 Knockout Bracket

• Quarter Finals: 4 heats of 4 riders, top 2 advance
• Semi Finals: 2 heats of 4 riders, top 2 advance
• Final: Pure racing - no wacky elements, best rider wins on skill alone

What Else?

• Demo Day - Try out a Onewheel if you dare!
• Family Activities - Scenic lake, playground, traffic park, free adventure park entry
• Sunset Ride - Group ride after the race
